Report on the use of Rab Archaeological (T)races trails based on Strava Global HeatMap data

Strava is the most popular application for tracking outdoor sports activities. It accurately records users’ routes and collects statistical data that can be used for personal analysis and progress monitoring. Strava Global HeatMap, based on publicly available app user data, shows the frequency of use of individual tracks with the help of ‘heat’, which is indicated by colours. Lines marked with darker colours indicate trails that are used less frequently, while lighter colours indicate those used more frequently. On the Global HeatMap of Rab, we marked the Rab Archaeological (T)races POI (points of interest) to determine the frequency of use of educational trails. The map shows that Rab Archaeological (T)races educational trails are marked with a light pink or white line, which means that they are visited extremely often. Global HeatMap is updated monthly, and the excerpt from the map shows the situation on 19 May 2021.
